William Campbell Abel, age 83, of Shelocta died on November 11, 2019 at St. Andrews Village, Indiana.

Bill was born in 1936 in Shelocta, PA to George and Helen White Abel.

Bill was employed as a Control Room Operator at Keystone Generating Station until his retirement in 1994. Bill was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, creating woodworking treasures for his family, gardening, traveling with his beloved wife Gladys, and spending time with his three grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys and his two sisters, Kathleen Sprankle and Aileen Woytek.  He is survived by his children: Jennifer Shesman and husband, Michael of Thurmont, MD and Lisa Snyder and husband Robert of Shelocta; grandchildren: Matthew Snyder, Ryan Shesman, and Benjamin Snyder; and numerous and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Private interment will be made at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a tribute gift can be made in memory of the Abels to the Parkinson's Foundation.
