Walter S.
Caber, Jr.
June 12, 1954 – March 2, 2025
Walter S. "Wally" Caber, Jr., 70, originally of Boothwyn, PA passed peacefully in Indiana, PA where he recently moved to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. He married Sherrie Ann Morgan in 1977.
Wally was known as a Gentle Giant who would do anything for you. He dedicated many hours and years developing his firefighting skills and training for service to his community through the Reliance Fire Co in Boothwyn. Wally served as past president at Reliance and also recently joined the Camden Wyoming Fire Co as an associate member. He served as a Cub Scout leader for his nephews Aaron and Paul. Wally enjoyed hunting, fishing, travel, spending time with his family and cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers.
Wally graduated in 1972 from St. James Catholic High School and earned an Associate Degree from the American Institute of Drafting in 1974. Throughout his career he worked for Westinghouse, DuPont and Boeing and was very proud to have worked on the design and manufacture of the Osprey helicopter.
Wally was preceded in death by his wife Sherrie, parents Walter Sr. and Rose (Kowalchuk) Caber, a granddaughter Arrahya Caber-Santiago, a brother Bill Caber, sister Dolores "Sis" Schiliro, godson Jay Schiliro and brothers-in-law Timmy and Melvin Morgan
Surviving Wally is his daughter Molly (Antonio) Caber-Santiago, of Indiana, three grandchildren Walter and Antonio Santiago, and Chase Mansfield, sister Mary Ellen Connelly, a brother Don, special nephews Aaron and Paul Morgan, special friend Doris Brown, brothers- and sister-in-law Tom and Laura Morgan and Kim Morgan, Charlie Schiliro, and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
A celebration of Wally's life will be held near Boothwyn at a later date. A private burial will take place in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wally's name to the Reliance Hook & Ladder, 1661 Mill Rd, Boothwyn, PA 19061
