Virginia M. Parker, age 96, of Indiana, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at her home. She was born in 1918 in Johnstown, to Frank and Gertrude Conrad Craig. Mrs. Parker was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, and the Catholic Daughters of America. A veteran of WW II she served as a WAAC in the US Army, working as a stenographer in the C.I.D. in Africa and Europe, having received the Bronze Star and other medals. Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed playing Bridge and spending her winters in Florida for the past 33 years. Virginia is survived by three sons and one daughter, David F. Parker and wife Annie, Kansas City, MO; Thomas L. Parker and companion Carol Donahue, Indiana; Beth L. Taylor and husband Tim, Indiana; Daniel R. Parker and wife Karen, San Diego, CA; her daughter-in-law Janice Parker and companion John Genthe, Indiana; five grandchildren, Jennie Bjorem and husband Jeremy; Jayson Parker and wife Jen; Philip Parker; Ryan Parker and companion Melanie Chronosky; Rebecca Taylor and fiance Scott Jobe; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry P. Parker, and her son P. Craig Parker. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R. C. Church, Indiana. Interment will be made in the Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Shani, Candi, Heidi, and Donna for their excellent support during her final months.
