Obituary

Vernon L. Troup, age 71 of Indiana, formerly of Marion Center, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born 1942 in Nu Mine, to Charles and Bessie Facemyer Troup. Mr. Troup was a member of the Indiana Church of Nazerene. He was employed as a coal miner for the R and P Coal Co., the Greenwich Coal Co. for 23 years, and finally for Canterbury Coal Co, for a total of 38 years. Vern loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and PA Elk herd. Surviving is his wife Joanne Suwinski Troup, Indiana; two sons and one daughter, Brian, Indiana; Kevin and wife Shelly Ryen-Troup, Rochester Mills; Lisa Spieker and husband Bernie, Fredericksburg, VA; one grandson, Sebastian Spieker; and by five brothers and six sisters, Samuel, Erie; Ruth Sheffar, Youngstown, OH; Jack and wife Joyce, Sagamore; Dorothy Barbarini, Erie; Ella Mae Crissman, Sagamore; Betty Toth and husband Alan, Cleveland, OH; Barbara Beresnyak and husband Richard, Home; Richard, Home; Margaret Jean Haggerty and husband Edward, Martins Ferry, OH; Calvin and wife Mary Lou, Dayton; Leonard and wife Judy, McIntyre; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by five brothers, Charles, Darl, Thomas, Ronald, and Fred, and by one sister Grace Betts. Friends will be received on Saturday from 2 to 4 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 4 P.M. with the Rev. Glenn Propst, Jr. officiating. Private interment will be made in the St. John Memorial contributions in Vernon's memory may be made to the family.
