Thomas M. Cavalier's Obituary

Thomas M. "Slick" Cavalier, age 62, of Clarksburg, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born 1952 in Clarksburg, to Chester and Leona Klimkos Cavalier. Tom was a member of the American Legion, Saltsburg, the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, the Thursday Evening Group, and played softball with the Valley Inn, Rocco's, and the Shelocta Presbyterian Church teams. He was a graduate of Saltsburg High School in 1970, and graduated from Barber School in Johnstown. He served in the US Army National Guard. Tom was employed as the water superintendant for the Indiana County Municipal Service Authority with 42 years of service. He ran many 5 and 10 K races and 19 Marathons. Thomas is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pamela Fleming Cavalier, Clarksburg; one brother Donald M. Cavalier (Kathy), Homer City; the following in-laws, James K. Fleming (Karen), Indiana; Wallace "Bud" Fleming (Linda), Indiana; Karen Redinger (Gary), Shelocta; Cheryl Thomas, Shelocta; Terry "Legs" Fleming (Julie), Dayton; Susan Patterson (Edwin), Indiana; June Good (Keith), Camden, SC; 18 nephews and nieces, Mike and Carie Cavalier, Ben Cavalier, Burt and Julie Redinger, Julie and John Fonvielle, Angela and Scott Shaver, Jennifer and Cliff Burton, Carol Redinger, Gloria and Joshua Currier, Mandy and Aaron Menke, Wally and Dena Fleming, Stephanie and Chris Fiely, Jason Fleming, Maureen Patterson, Alex Patterson, Carrey and Tom Plahs, Matthew and Sarah Gamble, Tiffani and Chris Branan, Keith Good, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Walter Quay and Bernice Fleming, a brother-in-law Rich Thomas, nephews Dennis Quay Thomas and Kurt Redinger, and numerous aunts and uncles. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, with the Rev. Fr. William Lechnar the celebrant. Interment will be made in Iselin Union Cemetery.
