Thelma P. Chappell, age 93 of Indiana, died Wednesday, September, 13, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born in 1924 in Indiana to Paul and Carrie Thomas Lower.

Mrs. Chappell was employed at the R & P Coal Co. for 31 years.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Catherine Shaw, Indiana; Patricia Yaws, Kaufman, TX; William J. "Chip" Chappell, Jr. and wife Cindy, Indiana; Gary Chappell, Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, James Shaw and wife Brigit, CT; Kenneth Shaw, TN; Jayme Shaw, Indiana; William Shaw and companion Laurie, Blairsville; three great grandchildren, William and Paul Shaw, TN; Ashley Shaw, Indiana; one brother Kenneth Paul Lower, Indiana; two nephews, Brian and wife Patsy Lower, Indiana; Ken Lower and wife Cathy, McIntyre.

She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Chappell in 1997.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 to 1: 45 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 1:45 P.M. with the Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
