Susan Kovalchick's Obituary

Susan Kovalchick, age 93, of Indiana, formerly of Sagamore, died on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1920 in Sagamore to John and Mary Garber Wanchick. Mrs. Kovalchick was a member of St. Anne's Byzantine Catholic Church, Clymer, and had previously attended the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City, and was a former member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Sagamore. A resident of Sagamore for most of her life, Susan had resided in Indiana and Clymer for the past 22 years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Kovalchick is survived by three sons and one daughter - Joseph P. Kovalchick and companion Kathy Gett, Aurora, CO; Janet Petro, Clymer; James A. Kovalchick and wife Darlene, Shelocta; John D. Kovalchick and wife Tina, Windsor, CO; seven grandchildren - Chance, Janessa, Britne, Jobie, George, Adam, Shae; five great grandchildren - JD, Caden, Jackson, Marley and Addie; and by the following siblings - Michael Wanchick, Cleveland, OH; and Margaret Remensky, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Joseph Kovalchick in 1982, and by the following siblings - Anna Chauby, Katherine Kovalchick, Dolores Wanchick, Mary Aglietti, Martha Fatica, and Agnes and Helen Wanchick. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a Panachida service will be held Monday at 3 P.M. A Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday at 10 A.M. at St. Anne's Byzantine Catholic Church, Clymer, with the Rev. Fr. William Lascelles, the celebrant. Interment will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sagamore. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Byzantine Catholic Church, 360 Franklin St., Clymer, PA 15728; or St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 279 Yellow Creek St., Homer City, PA 15748.
