Stephen A. Matty, age 67, of Indiana, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born in 1951 in Punxsutawney to Stephen T. Matty and raised by his paternal grandparents, Adam and Mary Matty.

He was a 1969 graduate of Marion Center Area School.

Stephen was employed as a baker for 44 years and worked at Seton Hill College, Shop & Save, Heartland, Giant Eagle, and Fire Mountain.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children - Stephanie Matty, Springdale; Sharlynne Matty-Shear and husband David, San Pedro, CA; Jason Matty and wife Antoinette, Indiana; two grandchildren - Jackson and Emily Matty; one sister Sandra Slater and husband Robert, Indiana; his former wife, Jo Garrettson, Indiana, and their beloved dog Holly; special cousins Priscilla Fairman and husband Jack, Creekside.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, and a special aunt Bertha Bell.

A private memorial service will be held at a later time. The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
