Stanley R. Sipes' Obituary

Stanley R. Sipes, 83, of Home, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home. He was born in 1932 to Lawrence and Mildred (McCrackan) Sipes in Kittanning. Stanley was a member of the Old Mahoning Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Kittanning and the New Castle Consistory, Plumville Lions Club, Sagamore VFW and American Legion, a Boy Scout Leader, Troop 555, Slate Lick. He was retired as an electrical inspector for MDIA and a member of IBEW. Stanley enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He was a veteran of the Korean war serving in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 64 years - LaRue A, Sipes, Home; two daughters - Teri L. Sipes, New Kensington; Holly L.(Sipes) Cowie, Romney, WV; eleven grandchildren - Ashley Crisman, (Joseph); Courtney Cowie, Garrett Cowie, Tosha Kesner (Josh), Hannah Cowie, Noah Cowie, Destini Cowie, Miriam Cowie, Jose Cowie, Mirranda Cowie, Lydia Cowie; three great grandchildren - Marcus Crisman, Dante Shores and Damon Cowie; three brothers - Ronald E. Sipes, Lower Burrell; Ralph L. Sipes and wife Nancy, North Huntington; Richard G. Sipes and Doris, Marionville; and a sister - Sandra D. Valentine and husband Jay, New Burne, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers - Donald and George Sipes. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Reverend Micah McMillen officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Plumville Lions Club, c/o Lynn Gearhart, 5568 Rte. 85 Highway, Home, PA 15747.
