Obituary

Stanley C. Servinsky, age 77, of Indiana, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Communities of Indian Haven. He was born in 1936 in Portage, to Joseph and Mary Pollack Servinsky. Stan was married to Frances Ann (Adornato) Servinsky for 54 years before her death in August 2010. Stan was a member of the St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. He was a graduate of IUP with a degree in music education. Stan was employed as a music teacher with the Indiana School District for 34 years. He was also owner of "Stan's Trophies and Engraving" for over 50 years. Music, humor and family were the foundation of his life, and were reflected in all that he did and all those he touched. Stanley is survived by one son and three daughters, Thomas C. and wife Marie, Stuart, FL; Susan A. Friedrich and husband Daniel, Vevey, Switzerland; Sandra L. Scott and husband Jeffrey, Basking Ridge, NJ; Janet M. Lombardi and husband Joseph, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister Josephine Papas, Gross Isle, MI; two sister-in-laws, Rose Marie Novak and husband Bernie; Connie Stewart and husband Bob, all of Indiana. Stan has been a life-long dog lover and is survived by Sugar, Agnes, Grady, Barkley, and his beloved Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, by five brothers and two sisters, Charles, John, Joseph, James, Tony Servinsky, Stephanie "Tess" Swartz and Marge Buchinsky. Friends will be received on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A music tribute will be held on Saturday September 15 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Thomas More Parish, followed by a funeral mass at 10 A.M. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Sikon, the celebrant. Entombment will be made in the St. Bernard Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Four Footed Friends or to St. Thomas More Music Ministry.
