Obituary

Sarah Christine McGaughey, age 24, of Indiana passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Mill Creek Community Hospital. She was born in 1987 in Indiana to Kevin R. and Christine Shatzer McGaughey. Sarah was a 2006 graduate of the Indiana Area High School. She was currently employed by VNA as a home caregiver. She loved her family, especially her daughter Ayla, pets, and taking care of people. She had an adventurous spirit. Sarah is survived by her daughter Ayla Bash, Indiana; her mother, Christine MCgaughey, Indiana; her father and step-mother, Kevin and Brenda McGaughey, Indiana; a step-sister, Debra Nardecchia, Indiana; her maternal grandmother, Geraldine Shatzer, Indiana; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and MaeJean McGaughey, by her maternal grandfather Elmo Shatzer. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 A.M. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
