Sarah L. "Sallie" DeGastro, age 86 of Ernest, died on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana.

She was born in 1930 in Clymer to John Donnelly and Leona Hankinson McCracken.

Mrs. DeGastro was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Ernest site. She was also a former member of the Eagles #1468 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was employed by GC Murphy for many years, by King Leather, and Rustic Lodge.

Sallie enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters and one son - Cherie M. Succheralli and husband James , Indiana ; Samuel J. DeGastro, Ernest; Renee A. Lundberg and fiancé Joseph Hodak, Indiana; three grandchildren - Chad Succheralli, Michael Succheralli and wife Lauren, Luke Lundberg; five great grandchildren - Lindsey, Riley, and Emma Succheralli, Kyle and Abigayle Hart; one sister - Audry M. Gunter and husband Robert, Hobart, IN; and her faithful companion Goofy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Samuel L. DeGastro in 2002, whom she married August 24, 1950, and the following siblings - infant John, Robert W., John D., Dean A. McCracken.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a Vigil service will be held at 7 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at the Church of the Resurrection, Ernest, with the Rev. Fr. Tony Klimko the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana .
