Obituary

Sara Jean Painter, age 96, of Indiana, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home, Indiana. She was born in 1914 in Penn Run, to Zenas and Florence Sproull Stephens. Mrs. Painter attended the Church of God, Indiana. She was employed by Campus Sportswear for 23 years as a trimmer. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a special person to all who knew her. She is survived by four daughters and two sons, Donna Luinetti and husband William, Dayton, TN; Patricia Smith, Indiana; Richard Painter and wife Sharon, Shelocta; Betty Troup, Indiana; Daniel Painter, Tullahoma, TN; Sharon Stiles and husband Lynn, Homer City; 22 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Lois Glassford, Indiana; Leila Martin, Bethlehem; and by a daughter-in-law Julie Painter, Cortland, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, by a son Arthur Painter, Jr., by one grandson Paul Smith, by three sisters, Ella Sleepy, Vera Fee, her twin sister Clare Willard, by two twin great grandchildren, and by two sons-in-law, Jacob Smith and LeRoy Troup, Jr. Friends will be received on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 A.M. with the Rev. Ronald Sexton officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. www.bowserminich.com
