Sara (Wells) Elkin DesChamp, 98, of Rochester Mills, died Friday, May 29, 2020, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home. She was born in 1922 in Numine to Earl M. and Bertha Ashbaugh Wells. Sara was a member of Bethany Chapel, Marion Center.

Mrs. DesChamp was a homemaker and resided in Erie County for 59 years before returning to Indiana County. She enjoyed reading, cooking and flower gardening.

Surviving are one daughter and one son, Deanna Gregory, Smicksburg, and R. Alan Elkin and wife Debra, Rochester Mills; three grandchildren, Scott Gregory and wife Tammy, Smicksburg; Kelly McMeans and husband Kevin, Home; and Colby Elkin and wife Amy, Brush Valley; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and the following siblings: Catherine Rusnica, Numine, and Shirley Sapp, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ray Elkin; her second husband, Paul "Pete" DesChamp; five sisters: Violet Smouse, Luella Gilhausen, Ruby Trayer, Donna Wells and Elsie Wallace; one brother, Clyde L. Wells; and her son-in-law, Layton K. "Dutch" Gregory.

Funeral services will be private and under the direction of the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home. Private interment will be made in the Gilgal Cemetery. www.bowserminich.com
