Obituary

Sandra A. Spangler, age 69, of Indiana, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home. She was born in 1943 in Oil City, to John S. and Ruth A. Toothman Yancy. Mrs. Spangler was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and was active in making prayer shawls. She was also a member of the OES and the YMCA. She enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles, needlework, collecting teddy bears and dolls. Sandy was a devoted friend to all who knew her. She will be fondly remembered by so many whose lives she touched. She was employed as an elementary teacher for 36 years, the majority of which were at Marion Center Area Schools. Sandra is survived by her husband Earl L. "Buck" Spangler, Indiana; her close friends, Gayle Coy and husband Ron,Homer City; Jean James and husband Gene, Indiana; Linda Ben-Zvi and husband Paul, Indiana; Cathy Nanni and husband Butch, Indiana; Daniel Winger, Pittsburgh; Cindy Sipos, Indiana; Carol Boone and husband Daniel, Indiana; Gwen Hall and husband Frank, Indiana; and her aunt, two uncles, and numerous cousins, who were all important in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received on Monday from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
