Obituary

Samuel C. McManis, age 95, of Hillsdale, formerly of Home and Rossiter, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Hillsdale Rehabilitation Center. He was born in 1915 in S. Mahoning Twp, to Merle and Minda Crooks McManis. Sam was a resident of Sinktown in S. Mahoning Twp. for much of his life. He was also a resident of Rossiter for 20 years, and a resident of Hillsdale Rehabilitation Center for the past four years. He enjoyed drawing and woodworking. He is survived by the following cousins, Patricia DeHaven Dragani and husband Charles, Indiana; John Burkett and wife Betty, Punxsutawney; Doris Johnson, Clymer; Paul Ruffner and wife Joyce, Clymer; Ronald Ruffner, Ocala, FL; Robert Ruffner and wife Madelin, Rochester; David DeHaven, Tucson, AZ; Paul DeHaven, Mr. Pleasant; Louise Boarts, William Boarts, both of Kittanning. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brothers Ray in 1944, and John in 1989. Friends will be received on Friday from 12 noon to 1:30 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Micah McMillen officiating. Interment will be made in the St. John Cemetery, Sagamore.
