Obituary

Sam Fedoruk, age 89, of Blairsville, (Black Lick Twp.), passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Communities of Indian Haven. He was born 1922 in Kent, to Theodore and Catherine Boychew Fedoruk. Sam was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, VFW Post #1989, American Legion Post #141, BPOElks Lodge #931, Air Force Sgts. Assoc., and The Retired Enlisted Assoc, "TREA". He was a veteran of WW II, Korea, and Vietnam Era, having served in the US Army and the US Air Force for total 20 years of service. He was also employed by the US Postal Service in Indiana for 20 years before retirement. Sam is survived by one sister Sophie Knapko, Blairsville; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Alma M. Grenier Fedoruk in 1993, and by two sisters and four brothers, Mary Harasyn, Anna Fedoruk, Frank, Nick, John, and Pete Fedoruk. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Esposito the celebrant. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery. The VFW Post #1989 will provide graveside military services.
