Russell G. Orr, age 83, of Punxsutawney died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at his home. He was born June 10, 1927 in Washington Twp, to Wilbur and Helen Potts Orr. Mr. Orr was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities over the years. A veteran of WW II, he served in the US Navy. He was employed by IUP for 33 years as an electrician and retired as Maintenance Supervisor in 1982. Russell is survived by a daughter, Tracey L. DuPont and husband Stephen, Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Cody C. and Tiffany J. DuPont, Punxsutawney; two brothers and three sisters, Raymond Orr and wife Isabelle, Jeanette; Larry Orr and wife Yvonne, Creekside; Lucille Limer, Churubusco, IN; Bessie George, Blairsville; Christine Talley and husband Ed, Punxsutawney He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Myrtle Ruth McDowell Orr in 2005, and by two sisters, Lola Troup and Erma Rumbaugh. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. with the Pastor Rick Butler officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valier United Methodist Church, PO Box 50, Valier, PA 15780.
