Russell M. "Gus" Gustafson, age 86, of Indiana, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born in 1931 in Titusville, to Henry T. and Adelia Wallin Gustafson.

Gus was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish.

He was employed by Penelec for 25 years as maintenance mechanic and retired in 1994. He was also employed as a part-time driver for Citizens Ambulance.

Gus was an avid bowler and served as treasurer for seven years of the IBA Bowling Assoc. He was also a member of the VFW Golf Leagues.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Georgia Ann Simpson and husband Robert, Sligo; Karen Pividori and husband Kevin, Blacklick; Ann Milazzo and husband Christian, League City, TX; Ronald Gustafson and wife Peggy, Germantown, MD; Raymond Gustafson and wife Tammy, Glendale, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Jamie and Jennifer Simpson, Bobbie Simpson Freeman, and Jeremy and Dominica Simpson, Rachel and Ryan Gustafson, Sara and Curt Scott, Melanie Gustafson, Benjamin, Brody, Cameron and Shane Milazzo; seven great grandchildren, Denon and Madilyn Simpson, Nicholas and David Simpson, Kyler and Kinsley Freeman, Caleb Scott, who lovingly called him "Tata".

He was preceded in death by his parents, by three brothers and one sister, Raymond, Robert, and Richard Gustafson, Ruth Swanson and by his loving wife, Gertrude.
