Obituary

Rosemary T. (Fox) Koons Moffitt, age 91, of Indiana, formerly of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Rose Haven Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank Rose Haven for all the wonderful care they have provided to Rosemary. She was born in 1922 in Altoona, to Oscar and Mary Ellen Evans Fox. Mrs. Moffitt was a former member of St. Michael the Archangel Basilica in Loretto, and currently a member of the St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #748, Loretto. Rosemary was employed as a secretary for the Franciscan Missions for many years before her retirement in 1985. Rosemary is survived by five daughters and three sons, Sharon Van Lenten and Husband Paul, Pace, FL; Deborah Carnley and husband Roger, Killeen, TX; Paul Koons and wife Katherine, Indiana; Katie Zeppuhar and husband Bob, Allison Park; Mary Elizabeth Sentesi and husband Jerry, Glenshaw; Brian Moffitt and wife Jane, Pittsburgh; Eileen Cottington and husband Eric, New Cannan, CT; Tom Moffitt and wife Sandy, Pittsburgh; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and one sister Nancy Milewski, Buffalo, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first Lewis Koons and by her second husband Joseph P. Moffitt, by one great grandchild Lydia Grace Persio, and by the following siblings, Ray, Paul Jack, and Arch Fox, and Jane Webb. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M. the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 A.M. at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, with the Msgr. Timothy Swope the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Fire Assoc., 1555 Indian Springs Rd., Indiana, PA 15701, or the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Local #1, 120 Flowers Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
