Ronald Ray Rose, 90, of Indiana, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2026. Born June 6, 1935, in Windber, PA he was the son of Humphrey and Alice (Jennings) Rose. He was married to the love of his life Eleanor on October 31, 1959.
Ron was a dedicated and well-known businessman in Indiana, spending his career in sales with Penn Furniture. After retirement, he enjoyed working daily alongside his wife at their travel agency, Aztec Travel Service. His jolly smile and joyful spirit drew people to him, and he had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever he went. He lived generously, loving others in meaningful ways.
He especially cherished time with his family—traveling with his wife and grandchildren, gathering around his grill to share steaks, and tending to his large garden. He took great joy in teaching his grandchildren his gardening “tricks of the trade.” Ron also had an incredible memory for numbers, a gift he maintained into his final days as he kept up with Pittsburgh Pirates scores and Steelers draft picks.
Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Eleanor (October 26, 2025), and his son, Gary (July 25, 2021). Ron is survived by his sister, Carol Dawson; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Rose; grandson, Carl (Jenny) Rose; granddaughter, Emily (Steve) Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Kenley Rose, and Sophia and Elizabeth Miller, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ron was a longtime member of Graystone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Indiana, where he served as a deacon and elder. He will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in the assurance of being reunited with him in heaven.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Graystone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 640 Church Street, Indiana, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM with Reverend Joe Stroup officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Graystone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 640 Church Street, Indiana, PA 15701.
