Ronald M. Orenak's Obituary

Ronald Mark Orenak, age 62, of Indiana, passed away on November 20, 2014 at his home. He was born in 1952 in McKeesport to Howard and Anne Yablonsky Orenak. Ron was a member of the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City. He was also a 20-year member of the Indiana Volunteer Fire Association, a retired PIAA football official for 36 years with the majority of his time in District VI as a member of the Tri-County Chapter of Officials. He was also a passionate model Railroader and a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club, owning five throughout his lifetime. Ron enjoyed scuba diving and was one of the first 7,000 Certified PADI Divemasters. He was a 1974 graduate of IUP with a BS in Biology Education. He was a member of the IUP Football team throughout his entire college career and held the record for points scored as a kicker for a number of years. He was employed as a teacher for South Allegheny High School, at the US Steel Clairton Works, and for Allegheny General Hospital as a Dialysis Technician. He also worked at the Indiana Dialysis Center as a Technical Supervisor, and finally, he was employed as a chemical analyst for Environmental Services Laboratories, Inc. Ronald is survived by his wife of 37 years - Ann Mores Orenak, Indiana; one daughter and one son - Tania Nacios and husband Kevin, Annandale, VA; Michael Orenak, Rockville, MD; one granddaughter - Kiera Nacios; one sister - Marilyn Burns, Elizabeth; one nephew - Christopher Burns, Clairton; and one great nephew - Gabriel Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by numerous aunts and uncles. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 10 A.M. at the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City, with the Rev. Fr. Cuthbert Jack, the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Ford City.
