Robert J. Baumler's Obituary

Robert J. Baumler, age 80, of Creekside, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in August 13, 1930 in St. Lucas, IA to Vincent Baumler and Ellen Gager Baumler-Stevens. Mr. Baumler was a lifelong resident of the Creekside area. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army. He was employed as an electrician for 30 years with the Perry and Megin Lumber Co., Whitesburg. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his wife, L. Winifred Erb Baumler, Creekside; one daughter, Bonnie Stewart and husband David, Shelocta; his daughter-in-law Patricia A. Baumler, Indiana; three grandchildren, Scott E. Meyer and wife Bonnie, Spring Church; Wendy R. Glasser and husband Frederick, Marion Center; Michael E. Baumler and wife Danielle, Cabot; nine great grandchildren, Whitney, Chantel, and Morgan Glasser; Kaitlyn, Meghan, and Mason Meyer; Dalton, Alexis, and Raeleigh Baumler; three sisters and two brothers, Rosalyn Lucas, Cresco, IA; Virginia Gage and husband Ed, Wadena, IA; Waneta Gage and husband Keith, Oelwein, IA; Richard Baumler and wife Sarah, Warner Robins, GA; Charles Baumler and wife Patricia, Wadena, IA; and his brother-in-law Edwin Molokken and wife Mabel, West Union, IA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by three sons, Ronald E., Kenneth J., and Gary L. Baumler, and by one sister Eleanor Molokken. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, with the Rev. Nick Kostella officiating. The VFW Post #1989 will provide military honors at the funeral home. Private interment will be made in the Whitesburg Cemetery.
