Richard R. Snyder's Obituary

Richard R. Snyder, age 72, of Marion Center, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1938 in Indiana, to Allen and Verda Prugh Snyder. Dick was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marion Center. Formerly a resident of Chadds Ford, PA, he was employed as a teacher, coach, and athletic director with the Garnet Valley High School for 29 years before returning to the family farm in 1993. Dick is survived by his wife Frances Hamilton Snyder, Marion Center; by one daughter Cheryl S. Stallmann and husband Mark, Middletown, DE; his father Allen Snyder, Indiana; three sisters and two brothers, Jacqueline Lockhart, Smicksburg; Rev. Douglas Snyder and wife Darlene, Indiana; Robert Snyder and wife Laurene, Indiana; Crystal Simpson and husband Robert, Indiana; Joyce Snyder, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Friends will also be received Saturday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Marion Center, where a funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Carl White officiating. Private interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Main St., Marion Center, PA 15759.
