Richard Kellar's Obituary

Richard Lee (Dick) Kellar,73, of Creekside passed away Saturday April 10, 2010 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in 1936 to Ralph M. and Eula L. (Bash) Kellar in Clymer. Dick was a member of Plumcreek Presbyterian Church where he was currently serving as an Elder. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He retired in 1998 as a heavy truck mechanic working for various companies. He still did state inspections for Shortys. Dick enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends as a member of the Traveling Groundhog Campers Club. He was a member of the Keystone Sportsman's Club, NRA, Ducks Unlimited and the Dart Throwers Club of Marion Center and Creekside. Dick was a past member of the Knotty Pines Square Dancers. He was an avid trout fisherman where his favorite fishing hole was Jerry Run in Cameron County, where he spent time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grand father, great grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Helen E.( Brown) Kellar, whom he married September 20, 1957. Three sons, John R. and wife Patty, Creekside; Donald E. and Wanda Frye, Creekside; Ken and wife Connie, Shelocta; 11 Grandchilden, Janelle, Daryl, Tina, Terri, Brian, Steven, Kendra, Danielle, Kayla, Courtney and Kisha, 7 Great Grandchildren. Two sisters, and three brothers, Julia Biss, Chauncey Kellar and wife Almeda, Raymond Kellar and wife Margaret, Daniel Kellar and wife Linda, and Eva Houser and husband Garry. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Allen Kellar in 1994, a brother Lynn, a Grand Son Carl, and In-laws Byron and Ruth Brown. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana where a Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Darla Revennaugh officiating. Interment will be held in Plumcreek Church Cemetery.
