Richard John Apjok, 72, of Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh on January 18, 1953, to the late Eva (Walters) and Andrew Apjok, Jr.
Rick graduated from Homer Center in 1971; he worked for FMC as a welder until his retirement in 2007. Rick was a past president of the Homer City Booster Club a member of the American Legion, Yellow Creek Trout Club, a lifetime member of the Wilcox Sportsman's Club. He loved to go to his camp, Tightline Camp, fishing and hunting, spending time at the creek but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and lifelong friends.
Rick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet (Litzinger) Apjok, daughter Jennifer Burgess of Irwin, son Michael (Megan) Apjok of Indiana, son Aaron (Stephanie) Apjok of Greensburg, seven grandchildren Andrew, Jonathan, Madison, Ava, Kendal, Maximus and Maddox; brothers Andrew (Carol) Apjok of Indiana and Robert (Kathy) Apjok of TN; as well as a sister Kathy (Scott) Walker of Homer City.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a sister Debra Apjok and a son-in-law Michael Burgess.
Friends will be welcomed by the family on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM, in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, and again on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 12 Noon until the time of service at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck Officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yellow Creek Trout Club, 140 E. Church Street Homer City, PA 15748.
