Obituary

Ralph "Les" Brilhart Sr., 79, of Indiana, went to meet his Lord and Savior Friday, February 24, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in 1932 to Leslie William Brilhart and Laura (Wagner) Brilhart in Hesbon. Les was a member of the F.O.E. Eagles 1468, Indiana, The Indiana American Legion 141, Indiana Moose Lodge, and Indiana VFW Post 1989. He was an avid hunter and sports fan, enjoying golf and putting puzzles together. With his wife they enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, bingo and camping at Silver Canoe Campground. He was retired from Season All Industries. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the United States Army. He is survived by a daughter and three sons, Tony Carney and wife Katharine, Mt. Bethel; Willy Brilhart, Tammy Buggey and husband Kevin; Sonny Brilhart, all from Indiana. Nine grandchildren, Neil, Marissa, Rachael and Sarah Carney, Breana and husband Tom Dudash, Shannan Brilhart, Shane, Kelly and Maura Buggey, and three great grandchildren, Rylan and Adalai Carney and Zoey Dudash, a brother Ross Brilhart and wife Mary, Clymer; and five sisters Jean Myers, Brush Valley; Joan Boston, Clymer; Anna Kostella, Indiana; Sondra Shaffer and husband Jon, Brush Valley. He was preceded in by his parents, his wife Shirley J. Carney Brilhart in 2006, four brothers and a sister, Edward "Flop", Lisle "Bud", Russel "Butch" Brilhart and a sister Lucille Zimmerman. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Major Robert Carney officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Indiana VFW Post 1989.
