Obituary

Peter Nicholas Cubeta, age 61, of Indiana passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at The Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born 1950 in Indiana, to Pete and Ann Riscinto Cubeta. Pete was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana; and Indiana High School Baseball and Football Boosters. For the past 15 years, Pete's true passion was his involvement in Indiana Little League. Pete served as the Field Manger, but really was much more than that. He helped organize and run dozens of tournaments, fundraisers and events. He helped design t-shirts, trophies and coordinated the ordering of uniforms. Pete also served as a Little League coach for many years. Throughout his time with the Little League organization, Pete truly touched the lives and hearts of many people, young and old. He loved being able to help players, parents, and coaches in anyway that he could. His commitment to the organization set a wonderful example for many. He truly put his heart and soul into his dedication to the organization. Another passion of Pete's was football. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, even during the rough times, he never missed a game. Pete also was a Volunteer Junior High School Football coach for several years. Pete also organized and ran the merchandise stand at the High School football games in support of the Football Booster Program. Pete is survived by his wife, Marianne (Bruno) Cubeta, Indiana; the light of his life, his son PJ Cubeta, Indiana; his loving sister Barbara Louis and husband Robert, Indiana; his faithful dog Niko; a very special aunt in Rose Riscinto, Lucermines; and a fond group of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles that he loved and was very close to. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 A.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, with the Rev. Fr. William Kiel the celebrant. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
