P. Richard Ferguson's Obituary

P. Richard "Dick" Ferguson, age 83, of Indiana, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at communities of Indian Haven. He was born in 1927 in Josephine to William M. and Vera Shadle Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church, a former member of the BPOElks, a 32 degree member of Masonic Lodge #152, and the Altoona Jaffa Shrine. He was employed as an engineer for R and P Coal Co., DuPont Construction Co., Consolidated Coal Co., Williamson Shaft Contracting Co., and retired from Industrial Resources, Inc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. Perry is survived by his wife B. Jane Ferguson, Indiana, whom he married September 16, 1950; two sons, Kenneth R. and wife Delraine P., Houston, TX; Donald L. and wife Cindy, Lower Burrell; five grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, Abby, Rachel, and Lori; one sister, Bonnie Denning, Plumville; and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 12 to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. Private interment will be made in the Blairsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Communities of Indian Haven, 1675 Saltsburg Ave., Indiana, PA 15701.
