Norma Jean Myers' Obituary

Norma Jean Myers, age 87, of Washington Twp., passed away on March 15, 2015 at Forbes Medical Center, Monroeville. She was born in 1927 in Washington Twp. to Roy Allen and Vernie V. Smeltzer Orr. Mrs. Myers was an active member of the Harmony Grove Lutheran Church where she was a member of the church choir, and various church groups throughout the years. She was also a member of the Plum Creek Valley Grange until its closing last year, where she met her husband. Along with her husband, she operated Myers Nursery raising seedlings and Christmas trees, continuing the tradition started by Norma Jean's parents. Norma Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ivan L. Myers, Creekside; two daughters - Dr. Kathy Myers Wunder and husband Dr. William Wunder, Indiana; Karen Schrecengost and husband Donald, Creekside; two grandsons - Kevin Schrecengost and wife Abbie Hoover Schrecengost, Homer City; Samuel Schrecengost and wife Christy Morris Schrecengost, Indiana; and one great grandson, Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. with the Pastor Dave Wasemann officiating. Private interment will be made in the Harmony Grove Cemetery.
