Nellie Mae Isenberg's Obituary

Nellie Mae Isenberg, age 86 of Indiana died peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Bethany Place Personal Care Home, Indiana.

She was born in 1933 in Coalport to Berton E. and Ella Mae Dishong Wissinger.

She was a member of the Alumni Association of Indiana Hospital School of Nursing. She was a graduate of Green Twp. High School in 1951, and a graduate of the Indiana School of Nursing in 1954.

Nellie was employed as a Registered Nurse at Indiana Hospital for 23 years, six years at the Spangler Hospital and 10 years at St. Andrews Village before her retirement. Most of her career was spent as a Nursing Supervisor.

Following retirement, she volunteered with local agencies to provide Health Care Services within the community. She truly lived to serve others her entire life. Nellie's empathy and compassion was balanced by her strong work ethic and high expectations. Nellie's selfless devotion and unending care towards her family will always be remembered.

Nellie is survived by two grandchildren - Laura Lansberry and husband Andrew, Indiana; Kevin Wissinger and wife Lisa, Plum; four great grandchildren - Ava Mae Lansberry, Owen, Dylan and Austin Wissinger; four brothers - Willie Wissinger, Lawton, OK; Harold "Buck" Wissinger, Northern Cambria; Kenneth Wissinger, Kingston, OH and Donald Wissinger, Marion Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two special people who loved her dearly - Janice (Wissinger) Champion, Slippery Rock; and David Hudzick, Las Vegas, NV. omeHoHM

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gary Wissinger, her husband Vincent I. Isenberg, her sisters Florence Hudzick and Bertha Bealonis, and her brothers Richard Dishong and Carl Wissinger.

Friends will be received on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Mihoreck officiating. Private interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
