Minoo D. Karanjia, Md's Obituary

Minoo D. Karanjia, MD., age 78, of Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Communities of Indian Haven. He was born in 1935 in Mumbai, India, to Dinshawji and Meherbai Paymaster Karanjia. He was of Zorastrain faith and practiced his religion with full faith and he followed his Master Meher Baba. Dr. Karanjia was self-employed as an ENT Physician for 25 years and was affiliated with the Indiana Regional Medical Center. A compassionate physician with an incredible bedside manner, he was very loved and respected by his patients and peers to this day. He was the President of the Indiana Medical Society, and received an award for 50 years of distinguished service by the PA Medical Society within the last year. Dr. Karanjia was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed watching his Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and horse racing, which his children inherited. He was a very competitive bowler for many years and bowled a 300 perfect game in league. He enjoyed playing Bridge. His hobbies included electronics, computers, gardening, and he could fix anything in the house. Addtionally, Dr Karanjia collected stamps and train sets. He enjoyed traveling with his family and going on Cruises, which relaxed him. Along with his family, they made many friends all over the world. He attended and participated in all his children's activities, like Karate, piano recitals, and sports. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his granddaughter Anna, who made him smile. Minoo dedicated his life to his three children and his beloved wife. He is survived by his wife Behroze, Indiana; two daughters and one son - Natasha Karanjia, DO, and husband Jason Henninger, DO, Tyrone; Kashmira Karanjia, Orlando, FL; Dinshaw Karanjia and wife Aranka and their daughter Anna, Wilmington, DE; two sisters - Nergish and Khorshed; one brother - Fali; a sister-in-law - Nergish, all in India; and several nieces and nephews in USA and India. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother Beheram, and one sister Mithoo. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Final disposition will be made in India. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 510 Pellis Road, Suite 203, Greensburg, PA 15601.
