Obituary

Mildred M. Thayer, age 99, of Indiana, died Wednesday June 13, 2012 at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana. She was born in 1913 in Banks Twp., to David Mathis and Mary Leona Marks States. Mrs. Thayer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was active in the Carry Circle and Good Fellow Sunday School Class. Mildred was a homemaker and had also been employed as a cafeteria worker with Indiana Area Schools. She was also an avid reader. Mildred is survived by one son Donald L. Thayer and wife Debra, Indiana; one daughter-in-law Diane Thayer, Indiana; and the following grandchildren, Robert Thayer and wife Gail, Ashville, NC; John Thayer, Indiana; David Thayer, Indiana; Eric Thayer, Indiana; Megan Thayer; Okeechobee, FL; several great grandchildren; and the following siblings, Jean Fulton, Indiana; Geneva Williams, Johnstown; Lynn States and wife Carol, Johnstown; Merl States and wife Jean, Round Rock, TX; David States and wife Joyce, Prior Lake, MN; Edna Parks, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Franklin Thayer in 1973; by two sons, Leonard in 1982 and Robert in 1998, and by two brothers, Charles and James States. Friends will be received on Friday from 12:30 to 2 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. with the Rev. officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
