Obituary

Michael J. "Hoover" Renosky, 88, of Home, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born in 1924 to Joseph and Mary (Chronowski) Renosky in Beyer. Michael was a member of Saint Jude Thaddeus Byzantine Catholic Church, Ernest. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Sagamore, until its closing in 2006; Holy Name Society; Marian Society; VFW 6555, Sagamore; Dayton District Sportsman's Club; and the Disabled American Veterans, Keystone State # 16. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Michael, along with his wife, Dorothy, founded the chapel at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore. Michael served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during WWII with the 6th Marine Division, seeing conflict in Okinowa. Michael is survived by his son, Michael, and wife Kathy, Dayton; daughters, Susan Cooper, Home; Sharon Johnson and husband Doug, Bellefonte; six grandchildren, Jason Cooper and wife Erika, Jimmy Cooper, Nicole Holsinger, Michael Holsinger, Laura Hoover and husband Craig, and Michael Renosky; a great grandson, Jack Cooper; and special friend, Ethelreda Sarokon. Michael was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy (Hospodar) Renosky, in 2005; an infant daughter, Karen Rose Renosky; six brothers, John, Clements, Andrew, Frank, Stanley and Paul Renosky; three sisters, Catherine Gromotski, Mary Salerno and Anna Renosky. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A Panachida service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at Saint Jude Thaddeus Byzantine Catholic Church, Ernest, with celebrant Rev. Father William A. Lascelles. Burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore, with military honors being provided by?. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saint Jude Thaddeus Byzantine Catholic Church, 320 Main Street, Ernest, PA, 15739.
