Mary Catherine Rafferty's Obituary

Mary Catherine Rafferty, age 89, of Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born 1925 in Phillipsburg to Thomas and Elizabeth Hefferan Agan. Mrs. Rafferty was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana; the Monroeville Garden Club; and a life-long member of the American Nurses Assoc. Mary Catherine was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Phillipsburg Area Hospital for a number of years, and was also a nurse for a private practice physician. She was an exceptionally loving wife, a deeply devoted mother and grandmother. Her Catholic faith was the guiding force in her life. Mary Catherine is survived by one daughter Dr. Elizabeth C R. Duncan, Indiana; one granddaughter Katherine Duncan, Indiana; three cousins, Michael Alderman and wife Sylvia, Tallahasse, FL; Patrick Alderman and wife Kathy, Lakeland, FL; Mary Jo Hollingsworth, Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Gerald M. Rafferty in 1999. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass in celebration of her going home to God on Monday, January 26 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas More University Parish, with the Rev. Fr. Alan Polczynski and the Rev. Fr. William Lechnar the celebrants. Interment will be made in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Osceola Mills. The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home has bee entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Baker Victory Services, (formerly known as Fr. Baker's Orphanage), at bakervictoryservices.org.
