Mary Pencola's Obituary

Mary (Shrokman) Pencola, age 93, of Shelocta, (Young Twp), passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at her home. She was born in 1921 in Sagamore to Louis and Magdalene Bytnar Shrokman. Mrs. Pencola was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, the McIntyre Senior Citizens, the Greensburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Good Shepherd Women's Guild, and the St. Gertrude's Guild. Mary was a homemaker and had also worked for Jiffy Steaks in Saltsburg for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden and yard work. Mary is survived by two sons - John E., Jr. and fiancé Kathy Kittell, Rochester Hills, MI; James M. and wife Denise, Avonmore; one granddaughter - Shylah Rosini and husband Mario, Rochester Hills, MI; one great grandson - Vincent Rosini; and by many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband - John E. Pencola, Sr. in 1990, by her daughter-in-law - Dale Pencola in 1989, and by three brothers - George, John, and Frank Shrokman. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, with the Rev. Fr. William Lechnar as the celebrant. Private interment will be made in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore.
