Mary L. Johnston's Obituary

Mary L. Johnston, 85, of Indiana, Passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at her home. She was born in 1925 to Glenn and Edna (Wissinger) Johnston in Indiana County. Mary was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church. She worked at First National Bank, Indiana office and retired from Tri-County Tech as a secretary. She had a love for animals especially dogs, where she owned and operated her own dog grooming business. Mary enjoyed her flower gardens and playing cards with her friends. She is survived by a cousin Warren Fleming and wife Ruth, New Castle; Special friend LaRue Hardick and husband Larry, Indiana; her neighbors Margaret Pearce and Susan Adamson both from Indiana; a caregiver, Margaret ( Peg) Haight, Homer City, Maritta Foltz, Martha Myers, Sam Bertolino, Tom Brubaker, Joan Rick, Jane Stahl, Mildred McCall, David Little, Rosemary Buckshaw and Rose Conti all of whom are from the area. She was preceeded in death by her parents and special friend Nick Distefano. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana VNA/Hospice, 835 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
