Obituary

Mary Gertrude "Gertie" Coffman, age 74, of Home, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her home. She was born in 1938 in Strongstown, to Samuel J. and Oneda S. Pounds Green. Mary was employed in housekeeping for the Communities of Indian Haven since 1978 until her retirement in 1998. Gertie is survived by two daughters and two sons, Sandra Shank and husband Richard, Home; Cynthia Little, Graceton; Richard W. Jr. and wife Tara, Summerduck, VA; Robert and wife Marianne, Home; nine grandchildren, Richard B. Shank and wife Becky, Lucernemines, Shawn Shank and wife Kelly, Smicksburg, Jessica George and husband Ron, Greensburg, Breanna Little, Graceton, Mollie Little, Graceton, Taylor Robinson and husband Landon, Summerduck, VA, Kassidee Coffman, Summerduck, VA, Kristie Coffman, Home, Garret Coffman, Home; one great granddaughter, Anna Shank, Lucernemines; two brothers, James Green and wife Ann, Brenizer; Willis Green and wife Linda, Nettie, WV; one brother-in-law Homer Conn, Canfield, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Richard W. Coffman, Sr., in 2003, by her sister Rosie Conn in 2001, and by two great grandsons. Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. R. Bruce Shannon officiating. Interment will be made in the Ruffner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
