Marlene Burkett Clark, age 78 of Ernest, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home.

She was born in 1940 in Aultman to James and Effie E. Adamson Burkett. Marlene was employed as a cook at IUP Foster Dining Hall for 28 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marlene is survived by two sons and one daughter - Richard N. Clark, Jr. and wife Carla, Floral City, FL; Forrest "Boone" Clark and wife Shari, Indiana; Jamie Edwards, Ernest; eight grandchildren - Cory Campbell, Jennifer DeFoor, Richard Clark, III, Tarah Hadden, Thomas Askew, Sydney Edwards, Chelsea Clark, Forrest Clark, Jr; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard N. Clark in 2016, her daughter Roberta Askew, and a granddaughter Cassandra Clark.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. William Cornell officiating. Interment will be made in the Marion Center Memorial Cemetery.
