Obituary

Mark McKendrick, age 60 ,of Blairsville, (Blacklick), died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home. He was born in 1953, to Joseph E. and Charleen McKendrick. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Marine Corp. Mark was employed as a roofer with his father for many years, and also worked as security guard and janitor. Mark is survived by his wife Linda Dilts McKendrick, Blairsville; six sons and two daughters, Joseph A. McKendrick, Bradford; Amanda L. McKendrick, Latrobe; Edward J. McKendrick, Indiana; Matthew C. McKendrick, Blairsville; Shawn C. McKendrick, Blairsville; Mark J. McKendrick, II, Homer City; Kelly M. Heckman, Brush Valley; Larry A. McKendrick, Seward; 14 grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters, Jeffery S. McKendrick, McIntyre; Kenneth P. McKendrick, Sr; Barr Slope; Joanne Olechovski, SC; Peggy McKendrick, Indiana; Daryla Sigafoes, Blairsville; Joleen Short, Indiana; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one son Verner F. McKendrick, Sr., by one brother Todd McKendrick, Sr., and by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held on wednesday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Charles Harvey. Interment will be private.
