Marie T. "Aunt Babe" "Sheshe" "Tressa" Cardiello, age 98 of Indiana, PA, formerly of Queens, New York, went to Heaven on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at her home.
To the world she was a mother, to her family she was our world.
She was born in 1920 in Mt. Pleasant, PA to Anthony and Mary Cost Splendore.
Marie was a member of the St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana, and a former member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, Queens, NY. Marie was also a member of the Senior Citizens club, the Mt. Pleasant Church Choir, a Sunday School Teacher, and a Bowling league.
Aunt Babe enjoyed playing cards, word searches, puzzles, Wii Bowling, exercise, needlepoint, painting, bowling, growing beautiful roses and gardening. She also loved traveling all over the world; Israel, Italy, Greece, Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean, Nova Scotia, and crossing our county twice.
She is survived by one son, Joseph P. Cardiello and wife Cynthia, Indiana; one granddaughter, Laura Cardiello Navarro and husband Joey, Woodstock, GA; one great grandchild, Melanie Navarro; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband John P. Cardiello in 2008, son Anthony J. Cardiello, and by the following siblings, Charlie, Thomas "Gee Gee", Pete, Ann "Una", Josephine, Henry, Billy and Anthony "Blockie". The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Nettleton for extending and enriching mom's life. They would also like to thank Sarah and Elizabeth Denver, and Melanie, Dana, and Linda.
Friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 A.M. at the St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. Interment will be made in the Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family would like positive thoughts and prayers and all that Marie wanted is for everyone to pass on an act of kindness in her memory.
