Obituary

Maria "Mary" Sabolovich, age 95, of Indiana, formerly of Coal Run, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana. She was born in 1917 to Charles and Anna Batik Pasternak. Mrs. Sabolovich was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, and the church's Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Aultman Senior Citizens. She was a graduate of the Indiana High School and at age 52 received her LPN Certification from Torrance State Hospital, Blairsville, where she was employed for 20 years. Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking, and dancing. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Sledzik and husband Herm, Indiana; Ellen Brown and husband Gil, Louisville KY; four grandchildren, Jim Sledzik and wife Shelli, Houston, TX; Bob Sledzik and wife Lori, Los Alamos, NM; Tim Brown and wife Lisa, Louisville KY; Susan Andriot and husband Jim, Louisville, KY; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Katherine Zayachak, Claremont, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Martin "Dinch" Sabolovich in 1995, by an infant son Andrew Martin, by three brothers, John, Stephen, and Michael Pasternak, and by two sisters, Sophia Bananto and Ann Vuckovich. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Esposito, the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, PO Box 99, Kent, PA 15752.
