Obituary

Mahlon N. Kirk, age 82, of Indiana died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. He was born in 1932 in Patton, to Emerson Seylor and Lulu Weber Kirk. Mahlon was a 1950 graduate of Patton High School. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army. He was also a graduate of the Public Service Institute of PA Fire School in Ebensburg. He was employed as a consultant in natural gas production and had been employed for Sand Surveys, Indiana, Gearhart Industries, Ft. Worth, TX, Haliburton Services and Kriebel Gas, Inc., both in Indiana. Mahlon is survived by his daughter Vivian Williams, Johnstown; two grandchildren, Nicole M. Cecchini and husband Fred, New Alexandria; Nathan Williams, Johnstown; one sister and one brother, Hilda J. Matava and husband Andrew, Orchard Park, NY; Kenneth B. Kirk and wife Mary, Patton. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Ressie Rairigh Kirk in 2012, and by his son-in-law Mark Williams, and by the following siblings, Vivian M. Boes, Lee Kirk, Emerson Kirk, Bob Kirk, and Thelma Turley. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich FH, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. with Rev. John Rairigh officiating. Entombment will be made in the Oakland Mausoleum.
