Obituary

Obituary for Mabel I. McCracken Mabel I. (Rising) "Nan" McCracken, 66, of Creekside, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home. She was born in 1947 to Archie D. and Mary (Allshouse) Rising in Indiana County. Mabel was a member of Plum Creek Presbyterian Church. She worked for the Indiana Hospital and the Visiting Nurses Association of Indiana County. Mabel enjoyed gardening, baking, her pets, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the VNA and Mabel's favorite nurses, Jennifer Morrison and Jennifer Schoch for all of their care and compassion. She is survived by her husband Joseph E. McCracken, Creekside; her mother Mary A. Rising, Punxsutawney; three daughters and a son, Christine Mikeska and husband George, Creekside; Scott Lorenzo and wife Debi, Penn Run; Laura Blystone and husband Dave, Creekside; Jennifer Lingenfelter and husband John, Creekside; two step-daughters, Valerie Davis and husband Harry, Shelocta; Jackie Morris, Mahaffy; ten grandchildren, Melissa Mikeska Olszewski and husband John, Heather Abbey LaVan and husband Nate, Regis Troxell, Keith Troxell and wife Diane, Nathan Lingenfelter, Taylor Lingenfelter, Noah Lingenfelter, Madeline Morris, Alyanna Morris, Thomas Morris and her first great grandchild on the way, and a special friends Beatrice Burns, Jason, Brandy and Sierra McCunn and also Fred, Lori and Matt Lorenzo. She is preceded in death by her father. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Washington Church Cemetery.
