Louise (Caratelli) Marra, age 86 of Homer City, (Center Twp.) passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Moorehead Place with family at her side. She was born in 1930 in Iselin to Quinto and Cecelia Johngarlo Caratelli. Louise was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent where she was active with the Women's Society and also served church dinners and a member of the funeral dinner team. She was a kind, gentle, loving, person and was happiest when she was making others happy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her greatest joy was cooking large meals for family and friends. No one left her dinner table hungry. Louise is survived by one son - Samuel A. Marra and wife Susan of Homer City; one daughter - Cathy Bonarrigo and husband Nicholas of Homer City; five grandchildren - Craig (Michele), Nicole (Ernie), Marisa (Ethan), Chris (Amy), and Amanda (Justin); eight great grandchildren - Nick, Emma, Isabella, Ava, Fallon, Hailey, Abraham, and Jordan; brothers-in-law and wife, Frank and Mary Marra, Toms River, NJ; Carl Baratta, Edison NJ; sisters-in-law - Martha Caratelli, Vandergrift; and Millie Caratelli, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 66 years, Samuel S. Marra on July 17, 2016, (Per Sempre Insieme - Forever Together), and by the following siblings - Clem Ferrant, Albert, Leonard, Frank, Dominick Caratelli. Friends will be received on Thursday from 3 to 7 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. Interment will be made in the Iselin Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, PO Box 99, Kent, PA 15752.; or to a charity of the donor's choosing..
