Obituary

Leroy H."Scaife" Shank, 92, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1919 to John and Victoria (Rowe) Shank in Clymer. Scaife retired after 65 years from Musser Nursery where he worked his way up to be a foreman. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and spending time with his family. He is survived by a daughter Sonja M. Anderson, Indiana; a grandson, Tom Shank, a daugher-in-law Denise Shank, Commadore; two granddaughters Tina Cribbs and husband Bill, Home Tonya Askew and husband Kevin, Harrisburg; two great granddaughters Brittany and Ashley; good friends Norm Miller, Chuck Flinn and his faithful dog Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, Betty Shank in 2004; a son Leroy "Butch" Shank Jr., a sister Marion Isenberg; and three brothers, Art, John and Linus Shank. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, with a funeral service on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hoch officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
