Obituary

Lena Louise Fleming, age 80, of Shelocta, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2013, while at home. She was born 1932 in Indiana to Amos and Annie Reefer Harkleroad. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, where she baked for various church activities. Her life was filled with family, including her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Lena is survived by nine children, Rose Plahs and husband Tom, Saltsburg; Patty Heffelfinger and husband Ron, Ford City; Shirley Sturgeon and husband Rick, Penn Run; Sue Smail and husband Wally, Schenectady, NY; Barbara Baker and husband Tom, Indiana; Earl Fleming and wife Diane, Winter Garden, FL; Albert Fleming, Shelocta; Sam Fleming and wife Joyce, Canfield, OH; Andy Fleming, Whitesburg; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Sarah Graham, Cherry Run; Anna Bragg and husband Jim, Beckley, WV; Della Hankinson and husband Bud, Whitesburg; one brother Leo Harkleroad and wife Helen, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Carl Fleming in 1992, one granddaughter Holly Fleming, and by her sister Erma Wingard Adams. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. Interment will be made in the Harkleroad Cemetery, Rural Valley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Shelocta, PA 15774.
