Lawrence G. Beers' Obituary

Lawrence G. Beers, age 66, of Marion Center, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown. He was born in 1943 in Plumville, to Helen Louise Beers Wolfgang. A graduate of the Punxsutawney High School, Larry served in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He was a life member of the VFW Sagamore Post #6555. Larry was self-employed as owner and operator of Plumville Auto Supply for 14 years. He was later employed as a machine operator with PolyVision, Inc for 12 years. Larry is survived by his daughter Terri Kreiger, Red Lion; by one granddaughter Athena Kreiger, Red Lion; one sister and one brother, Judy Fairman, Punxsutawney; Ken Beers and wife Diane, Johnstown; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, by his step-father Ralph Wolfgang, and his best friend, his dog "Freddie". Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1165 Philadelphia St., Indiana, PA 15701; or the VFW Post #1989, 824 Indian Springs Rd., Indiana, PA 15701.
