Laura Jean (Cook) Helman, age 85 of Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Communities at Indian Haven.

She was born in 1931 in Indiana to David and Velda Edwards Cook, and was raised by her grandparents, Rowland and Esther Edwards.

Laura Jean was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer.

She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife and along with her husband co-owned Helman's Apple Orchard.

Laura Jean is survived by two sons and a daughter - Carol Jean George and husband Daniel, Shelocta; Edward Eugene Helman and wife Betty, Indiana; and Donald Wade Helman and wife Connie, Indiana; 11 grandchildren - Laura Mortimer and husband Zachary; Lyndsey Nicholson and husband Timothy; Abra Gardner and husband Josh; Megan Pudliner and husband Andrew; Matthew George and wife Jennifer; Donald Helman Jr and wife Holly; Bret Helman and fiance Whitney Cantelope; Elizabeth George; Allen Helman and fiance Amanda Vergiels; Joshua Helman and wife Victoria; and Nathaniel Helman; 13 great grandchildren - Mikayla, Madisyn, Garrett, and Morghan Mortimer; Breegan Robertson; Eyeslee Pudliner; Bryston and Leightyn Gardner; Brayden, Jaxson and Tori Nicholson; Travis and Henry George; one sister-in-law - Barbara Joan Cook, Harleysville; one cousin- James and Louise Seger, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wade Eugene Helman, and one brother Robert L. Cook.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday with Rev. Dr. Daryl Jeffers officiating. Burial will be made in the Union Cemetery, Shelocta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Academy, 11394, Rte 286 East, Clymer, PA 15728.
