Obituary

Obituary for Larry R. Smith Larry Roderick Smith, age 62, of Indiana, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born 1948 in Charleston, WV to Shelby and Helen Ellis Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of the American Legion Port Alleghany Post #258, and the Red Barn Sportsman Club. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served in the US Army from 1974 to 1982. Larry was employed by Smith and Krise Bus Services, and Quintech Inc. He was an avid camper, hunter, and NASCAR fan. Larry is survived by his wife Brenda L Deabenderfer Smith, Indiana; two daughters and one son, Anita Hinzman and husband Rick, WV; William Smith and wife Tammy, WV; Nicole Ringler and husband Jason, Indiana; five grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, and Kelli Hinzman; Robbie Smith, Camden Ringler; his parents of WV; his mother-in-law Anna Deabenderfer, Indiana; one aunt Virginia Bell and husband Bill, WV; by his close friends, Bruce and Jackie Baker, Mammoth Springs, AR; Mike and Vicki Walker and family, Johnstown; and his beloved dog Bert. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and by his father-in-law Blaine Deabenderfer. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Gary Alberding officiating. Interment will be private. Military honors will be provided at the funeral home by the VFW Post #1989.
